Summer junior programme in Heidelberg
Summer, sun, language learning: create unforgettable moments for your children with the Academy of Languages' junior programme.
Every year, children from over 100 nations aged between six and 15 make their way to Heidelberg to not only learn German or English in age-appropriate lessons at the Heidelberg Language School, but also to make new friends and spend the summer holidays together with children from all corners of the world.
After the language course, there is a balanced and varied lunch in the canteen before the colourful leisure programme begins: Excursions to the museum are also part of the programme, as are hikes, boat trips and creative workshops.
Junior programme in German and English
Information about the German course
Duration of the programme: 29 June 2026 – 15 August 2026
Lesson times: 09:00-12:15
Number of participants: 6-15
Age: 6 to 8; 9 to 11; 12 to 15 years
Levels: A1, A2, B1 and B2
Language level C1 on request.
Additional individual tuition (Standard): 34 €/45 minutes.
Beginners' Introduction: 29.06. and 27.07.
Lateral entry for participants with previous knowledge is possible every Monday.

Lunch and free time
Lunch for the participants is prepared by a professional catering company that specialises in catering for daycare centres and schools. The chef strictly adheres to current standards in terms of hygiene, sustainability and verifiable origin of the ingredients. Please inform us of any food intolerances or special dietary requirements such as vegetarian or halal food when registering.
Our leisure programme is a colourful mix of sporting and cultural activities, such as: Neckar boat trip, discovery tour through Heidelberg, visit to the Heidelberg Zoo, the Botanical Gardens, the fairytale paradise on the Königstuhl, Heidelberg Castle, the Kurpfälzisches Museum Heidelberg, sports activities, picnic on the Neckar meadow, games and sports in the gym of the F+U campus, mini golf, hiking on the Heiligenberg, visit to the falconry Tinnunculus, visit to the Thingstätte and much more.
Services included: Supervision, entrance tickets and transport costs as part of the activity. Not included: Catering en route.
Accommodation
Children and young people aged 12 and over can be accommodated in one of our carefully selected host families, subject to availability. For reasons of care and supervision, the school lunch and leisure programme modules must also be booked for host family accommodation. Host family accommodation includes half board and full board at weekends.
